How to Connect to Streamyx Wireless using Vertex Wireless

 

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Type 192.168.1.1

3. Key in 'admin'

Default passwords for Vertex Wireless modems:

address: http://192.168.1.1 

password: admin

1.Key in SSID to name your Wireless Network Connection.

2. Key in Wireless Code to protect your network from being hacked or use by others.

3. Finally click Apply.

3. To check wireless reception, go to Advance Setup->Status->Status Information.

RF below -75 means best reception

Streamyx Wireless Part 2

At last is here....the first in Taiping....somebody told me this is new stuff from TM. Previous modem and Wireless Streamyx quite unstable. I guess many will be using it in new housing area (those are without telephone cable installed). Now waiting for Wireless Phone. Speed min.384kbps(unlimited) better than Celcom, Maxis and Digi. Why? They are using TM cable.

Browser Troubleshooting

If certain browser(firefox, google crome, opera, ie or etc) unable to surf certain website, please do the following troubleshooting:
1. Try to reinstall your browser
2. Make sure you had updated your browser to the newest version
3. Do not forget to install flash for browser
4. Do you update your antivirus or antimalware? If No, update it and scan the computer.
5. Use C Cleaner to clean up your browser.

 If your area do not have cable, you need to apply for wireless telephone, fax and Streamyx but only at 384kps. For Wireless Streamyx, there are two packages offered which are RM60 and RM77. Contact this number for those interested(Perak).

ATi Computer SUCKS!

Today, I am really disappointed with Ati Computer located along Jalan Taming Sari, Taiping.

 This happened when I switch on the computer.
On September I had cendol with a teacher opposite the shop. The Computer technician came to me to return the pc which I do not get it back after almost a year. He apologized and told me it is workable. But what happened when I turn it on? This screen pops up. It is definitely because of hardware problem as I had told him last year. If it is because of software, I can fix it myself. It is your lousy product need to be replaced. In short, please do not buy any product from this guy...you will truly regret it.

 Reliable PC bought from friend in KL since 2003 and still working.

 Current reliable notebook which I am using everyday bought from Cubebox(located near Convent school and CIMB Bank) since Jan 2010. I am not a gamer but quite heavy user...to surf internet, using photoshop, illustrator, music and also watching movies.

AVG UPDATE CRASHES

Anyone using AVG out there? Recently AVG newest update crashed a lot of computers. I had not been using AVG because . . . refer to my older post here:  Older Post . So I do intend not to use AVG coz I do not want my pc become blue screen where some having this situation right now. It will takes hours and frustration to fix it.

A lot of people been asking me which basic security to protect their pc/ netbook/ notebook from viruses. For Windows XP, I will recommend Avast. If you are using Windows Vista/ 7, Microsoft Security Essentials works best. Microsoft Security Essentials is available for Windows XP but I will not recommend it because you need to retart your Windows after each scan conducted. As you know, to restart Windows XP takes longer time that Windows 7. But if using Windows 7, the Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't run that way. 

Besides having anti-virus, your pc need to equip with anti-malware to protect from spyware, malware and etc where you will have an identity theft as well. Highly recommended is malwarebytes for anti-malware. 

Certain computers are not provided with original Windows. Some shops will introduce non genuine Windows as to fulfill their customers budget. I will only recommend original Windows for easy repair and fixing. To add on to computers sellers income, they will come up with lots of anti-virus product. Only a handy of honest and computer shops will introduced free anti-virus. Choose the free anti-virus product. From time to time, there might be changes in using the best anti-virus in different type of operating system. I had been using free products for quite sometime and I had no problem yet. Anything downloaded from the web or thumb drive, please scan with anti-virus and anti-malware. Update it regularly.
