Pictures that can create hysterical among students
A SECONDARY school in Bukit Gantang in Taiping ended its session earlier on Thursday when 12 female students and a male student went hysterical. The school released its students by noon following the 10am incident during which some of the affected female students kicked wooden tables and chairs in class and shouted at the top of their voice.
Bukit Gantang MP Roslan Shaharom, who was at the scene to console the affected students and their parents, said several bomohs (shaman) were called in by teachers to control the situation.
“Initially two or three of the students went hysterical but subsequently others were affected too,” he said.
Student affairs teacher Meor Alim Shah said none of the affected students were sent to the hospital as all of them appeared to have recovered by about noon.
One of the parents who turned up at the school, Mat Abas Nordin, 65, said he was informed by a person to pick his Fifth Form daughter who had turned hysterical.
“Normally, she returned home by bus but the person advised me to pick up my daughter as she appeared listless,” Mat Abas said.
A villager, who declined to be identified, had earlier alerted reporters in Taiping about the incident after his daughter, also a fifth former, had returned home about 11am instead of 2pm.
A teacher said some of the female students began kicking the wooden tables and chairs while others ran out of their classrooms shouting at the top of their voices.
Larut Matang and Selama district education officer Mat Lazim Idris was at the school but declined to talk to reporters. What is the name of the school?
