Q&A SESSION ON COMPUTER BASIC SECURITY

A lot of people been asking me which basic security to protect their pc/ netbook/ notebook from viruses. For Windows XP, I will recommend Avast. If you are using Windows Vista/ 7, Microsoft Security Essentials works best. Microsoft Security Essentials is available for Windows XP but I will not recommend it because you need to retart your Windows after each scan conducted. As you know, to restart Windows XP takes longer time that Windows 7. But if using Windows 7, the Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't run that way. 

Besides having anti-virus, your pc need to equip with anti-malware to protect from spyware, malware and etc where you will have an identity theft as well. Highly recommended is malwarebytes for anti-malware. 

Certain computers are not provided with original Windows. Some shops will introduce non genuine Windows as to fulfill their customers budget. I will only recommend original Windows for easy repair and fixing. To add on to computers sellers income, they will come up with lots of anti-virus product. Only a handy of honest and computer shops will introduced free anti-virus. Choose the free anti-virus product. From time to time, there might be changes in using the best anti-virus in different type of operating system. I had been using free products for quite sometime and I had no problem yet. Anything downloaded from the web or thumb drive, please scan with anti-virus and anti-malware. Update it regularly.

How to install and use 7-zip

How to install
1.   Click 7z465 if you are using 32 bit or 7z465-x64 if you are using 64 bit
2.   Follow the instruction: Next->Click Agree, then Next->Next->Install->Finish
How to use
1.   Right click the zip file.
2.   Locate 7-Zip and choose Extract here.

Other method:
1. Click 7-Zip File Manager in Program Files
2. Click Computer->C:->Users->Acer->Desktop to find the zip file (depends on which windows or computer you are using)

G.E.M ROCKS!

I am not a great fan of G.E.M bcoz she is younger than me. I had listen to various songs from Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, United States, United Kingdom and etc. Lately I had been listening to songs from Hong Kong. When I was still schooling, I will prefer listening to Hitz.fm because the songs rocks! I like music engineered by American based studio. When I start working in Pahang, I have been listening to Malay song from Malaysia and Indonesia also songs from Taiwan. I guess it is because the influence from my colleagues. However 2 or 3 years back I am more into songs from Hong Kong. TVB might have been well in promoting their shows which include songs which are appealing to me. When I came back working in my hometown, I heard songs from Janice Vidal. Back in 2008, Serving You Album really sparks my appetite for more songs from her. The only does not score is the cover which made her look plain, fat and old. After this album, the rest sucks. She just can't keep the momentum. Coming back to G.E.M., her latest MySecret is great. From the internet, I learned that her album was recorded in Los Angeles, US, that make this album has a more of American Style. Some of the songs are composed by G.E.M. If I were you, I will get a copy of it right now! So what is holding you? Get it now!

 RON97 INCREASED QUIETLY

RON 97 has been hiked to RM2.15 per liter. Our ministers will not going to announce the price increase in future. What do you think about that? I am using RON 97 for my 15 year old car. So which RON are you using? The comparison last year to now, only 12 % of vehicle in Malaysia using RON 97. I am advised by my mechanic to use RON 97 for old cars because I am travelling short distance to work. I would advise others to use RON 97 if you are driving long distance and if your car is as old as mine to prevent your car engine to get overhauled. Thus, paid a high price although I am Malaysian and wanted to enjoy the same benefit like others but what to do, I can only afford an old car.

Watched The Pupil on NTV7 every Tuesday 8.30 p.m. starring Adrian Pang and Impian 1Malaysia every Tuesday 9.30 p.m. on RTM1 hosted by Qi. The Best award goes to The Pupil while the Worst awarded to Impian 1Malaysia. After Nanny Daddy, I am looking forward to watch Adrian Pang's shows. Destinasi Bajet which hosted by Qi makes me wanting for more but when watching Impian 1Malaysia, it is something lacking(reality). I can see some unreality shots different from Baki's Step Forward where it really shows true 1Malaysia. The problem maybe because of production crews. It is you to decide which you like best.

Adakah anda akan beli Notebook Toshiba?

Ramai guru yang beli notebook Toshiba menghadapi masalah notebook shutdown sendiri jika dicaj (penjual komputer pula mengesahkan keadaan disebabkan motherboard). Di sekolah saya mempunyai 4 kes notebook Toshiba menghadapi keadaan ini. Ada yang pakai tak sampai 3 bulan terpaksa menukar motherboard tetapi nasib baik sebab masih dalam waranty. Ada pula yang nasib kurang baik terpaksa mengeluarkan duit poket RM600++. Walaupun ada waranty, after sales service pula lah lambat. Ambil masa sebulan setengah. Biasanya saya akan tanya kedai komputer notebook jenama ini ok ke tak, ada pelanggan yang lain komplen jenama ini dan yang paling penting sekali after sales service bagus tak. Kalau penjual yang tahu kaut untung saja akan kata semua ok tetapi bila ada masalah kata bukan salah dia dan akhir sekali menolak tanggungjawab sebagai pengusaha kedai.

Saya berhadapan masalah ini pada tahun 2008 dimana saya beli di ATi Computer yang menjadi ejen Toshiba. Masa itu saya bukannya membeli jenama ini tetapi pc AMD keluaran ATi Computer. Lepas pakai pc itu tak sampai setengah tahun ada masalah timbul. Dengan sukarela, tauke komputer akan membaikinya. Lepas pakai sebulan masalah yang sama wujud lagi dan kali ini tauke itu kata masalah hardisk. Lepas sebulan masalah yang sama wujud lagi. Saya mintak tauke itu periksa komputer elok-elok. Saya biar komputer itu berberapa bulan di kedai itu untuk dia mengenal pasti masalahnya. Untuk kali keempat saya tak tahan lagi, saya mintak refund. Separuh pun cukup la. Banyak sangat masalah, semua kerja terganggu. Tengah buat kerja sekolah tak sempat save. Tauke ini ingat saya tak tahu pc ke? Saya pernah baiki banyak pc dan notebook guru lain tetapi masalah ini tak pernah wujud. Kalau masalah software saya boleh baiki sendiri kalau hardware tauke tu kena tukarlah. Akhir sekali,tauke tu baiki dan katanya dah tukar motherboard. Saya dah frust sangat sampai tak ambil pc dari kedai itu dan beli notebook acer dari penjual yang lain atas rekomen rakan setugas. Suatu hari tauke itu hantar pc ke saya dan mohon maaf atas kesilapan  dia. Saya buat terima je. Masa saya hantar pc yang problem, dia nak salahkan saya. Dia mestilah mulut manis sebab ramai pelanggannya guru. Saya x sabo dia sebab dia pun nak cari makan tapi saya bersumpah tak akan rekomen kedai tu kat orang lain. Penjual jenis tak jujur. Ilmu komputer pula cetek.

Berbalik kepada cerita Notebook Toshiba, penyelesaian mudah adalah tukar motherboard tetapi masalah ini mungkin akan timbul semula nanti. Kalau sudah lepas waranty, jangan tukar motherboard lagi. Cuba tanya rakan sekerja yang mahir komputer apa yang perlu dibuat bagi menjimatkan kos sebelum menghantarnya untuk ditukarkan motherboard.

Nasihat saya, cari penjual komputer yang jujur dan mempunyai track record yang baik. Jangan beli komputer dari dealer sebab dia orang hanya tahu kaut untung.
