HOT PERI-PERI OR MILD SEAT?
PIC: www.airasia.com/site/my/en/page.jsp?reference=pickaseat
Which do you prefer? Hot Peri-Peri or Mild? Air Asia again introducing another marketing strategy to fight the economy downturn where less people travel due to retrenchment and higher cost of living. Some assume traveling as a luxury kind of stuff where Air Asia created a phenomenon where everyone can fly. To be competitive in the airline industry, Air Asia came up with an idea where customer do not need to grab seats but to fork out RM10 for two way flight. For those aiming gold please allocate another extra RM40.

KUALA LUMPUR: From Tuesday, AirAsia passengers need not rush to get a seat.

The airline has introduced its “Pick A Seat” service for all flights where every passenger would automatically be assigned a seat number when they make a booking.

For those who want a specific seat, they can either purchase a “hot seat” for RM25 one way or a “standard seat” for RM5.

They have the option of choosing a window or aisle seat or anywhere else.

The hot seats are those in the first five front rows and the two rows at the emergency exit. A hot seat comes automatically with express boarding facility.

The standard seat allows passengers to choose the other seats.

The Xpress boarding facility as a standalone service will be scrapped from Tuesday. Those who have already booked or paid through this facility will be given a hot seat. Those who do not like the seat assigned to them can change them.

“Passengers now have a choice on whether they want to sit by the aisle, window or anywhere else,” AirAsia group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes said at the launch of the service yesterday.

“The days of running to the plane or pretending to be a rugby player while trying to grab a seat are over.”

He said passengers had always wanted seating options as practised by long-haul services on AirAsia X flights.

“The response has been good so far with 7,000 choice of seats booked in five days.

The service was opened for sale from Feb 5.

On the 500,000 free tickets promotion, Fernandes said the response was “fantastic” with a record 279,000 seats sold in one day despite the economic downturn.

“We will not be cutting down on our plans. We believe we have the product that people want which can bring in more tourists,” he said.

He added that the new LCCT departure terminal would be ready by March 15.

AIR ASIA VS MAS
Starting today Air Asia again giving free seats minus surchange while MAS and Fireflyz giving low fares + food. Some prefer cheaper flight while the rest can't resist the temptation of eating free food.
p/s: Unable to get free seats to Clark, Philippines on October. Wonder is it because all the free seats were fully booked?

WORKERS IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR JOBLESS

IS BARISAN THE RAKYAT'S PARTY?
PIC: chunwai08.blogspot.com
Almost all the Barisan top leaders came down Kuala Terengganu for the campaign of the recent by-election however it is a waste of the effort. Even the prime minister and the deputy prime minister can do nothing about the votes. I think Pakatan Rakyat's becoming stronger and stronger. It indicates that the current government should change their policies or other ways to pull back the rakyat's heart. Most out-station voters unable to vote because some might be working for the replacement of Chinese New Year celebration.

BOIKOT US PRODUCT FOR A MONTH
Can you imagine, Malaysia ex-prime minister give this statement? It brings more harm to the economic during down turn.
ANY BETTER SUGGESTIONS?
Referring on the statement by Ministry of Transportation, do you think express buses which do not operate at midnight could saves lives? What happen to a bus user who wanted to travel from Taiping, Perak to Kuala Rompin, Pahang? There is no direct bus and he needs to travel to Pudu first before continuing his journey to Pahang. To make matter worse, he needs to stay for a night and waste 2 days on the road. To save peoples lives it it not only on the hands of the driver also the enforcement officer to monitor the buses which travel from one destination to another destination safety.

POINT OF MY VIEW
Yesterday there is an interview between Florence Looi from Ntv7 newscaster and UPSI Professor at 8.30 pm during Point of View slot. I really do not agree with the professor view and the findings he came up with. All the while he brushes off the questions on maintaining Maths and Science teaching in English. All he can say was it's a policy to teach Maths and Science in English. He does not agreed with different policy made for urban and rural area. While in my point of view, there must be a different policy for different schools. For parents who wanted their children to learn Maths and Science in mother tongue, Bahasa Melayu or English Language can send their kids to the school they preferred. It's the choice they have to make. It's their kids. Their kids' future depended on their parents and not the minister or other people to decide. Later no one will succumbed the blame where mostly the teachers and ministers often the scrape goat.
